  • Hưng Yên police charged the owner of the Dương Dolce shop on 14 October over fake Hermès, Dior, Gucci and adidas goods worth VND 222.6m.
  • Thái Nguyên police charged the owner of the Duy Bom shop over 974 fake Adidas, Louis Vuitton and Dior garments, announced on 16 October.
  • Update: on 21 October Hưng Yên police announced a third charge, under Article 226(2), against the Đức Bun shop owner over 2,116 suspected fake items; none of the three has been convicted.

Update, 22 October 2026: Hưng Yên provincial police said on 21 October that they had charged a third fashion-shop owner, Lê Tuấn Đức, born in 1999, who owns the Đức Bun shop in Thái Thụy commune. This charge is under Article 226(2) of the Penal Code. According to the reports, commune police and Market Management Team No. 7 inspected the shop on 20 August and held 2,116 items showing signs of counterfeit marks of 12 brands, including Nike, Adidas, Gucci, Dior, Hermès, Louis Vuitton and Moncler, valued at VND 769,870,000. Investigators say he made illicit profits of more than VND 1 billion between April 2024 and August 2026, which is their finding at the charging stage. He has not been convicted, and no arrest has been reported. [5], [6]

On 14 October, the investigation police of Hưng Yên province opened a criminal case against Nguyễn Văn Dương, born in 2000, who owns the Dương Dolce fashion shop in Hưng Hà commune. He is charged with infringing industrial property rights under Article 226(1) of the Penal Code. Commune police and Market Management Team No. 6 had inspected the shop on 21 September and found 270 pairs of slippers bearing counterfeit Hermès marks, 125 sets of adidas clothing, 12 pairs of Dior shoes and 8 pairs of Gucci shoes, worth VND 222.6 million at the shop’s own prices. The market management team passed the file to the police on 28 September. [1], [2]

In a separate case, Thái Nguyên provincial police said on 16 October that they had charged Nguyễn Văn Duy, also born in 2000, with the same offence. He owns the Duy Bom shop in Phú Bình commune, which commune police and Market Management Team No. 3 inspected on 1 October. They found 974 items of clothing bearing Adidas, Louis Vuitton and Dior marks, and an appraisal found all of them to be counterfeit. Báo Văn hóa puts their value at VND 331.55 million. He has been barred from leaving his place of residence and from leaving the country. [3], [4]

Neither man has been convicted. A prosecution decision is an early stage of Vietnamese criminal proceedings, and the Hưng Yên police say they are still building their case. [1]

Both cases started with a joint inspection of a single shop by commune police and a market management team. Inspections like these are often settled with administrative fines. Here the cases moved to criminal charges against the shop owners themselves, which is a stronger signal to other retailers selling the same goods.
